Julia McLaughlin, Associate Attorney

Julia McLaughlin is an associate attorney at Florida Women’s Law Group, where she works with individuals and families navigating family law matters in Florida. Based in Northeast Florida, she supports clients who are often dealing with big life changes and difficult decisions, especially women who want clear guidance and steady support during an uncertain time.

Her work centers on helping clients understand their options and feel grounded throughout the legal process. In practice, she takes a thoughtful and patient approach. Her path into family law grew out of a long and varied legal career. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from Princeton University before completing law school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Early on, she combined practicing law with teaching, eventually spending nearly two decades as a family law professor. Along the way, she remained active in the legal community, contributed to legal writing on issues involving children and families, and continued practicing family law for many years. That mix of teaching, writing, and hands-on work shapes how she approaches cases today.

Outside of her daily work, she values mentoring, learning, and staying connected to the community, and she brings that same steady presence into every client relationship.
