Long before she went to law school, Anna Durstein knew she wanted to go into the field of law.  Anna’s father was an attorney and as she grew up learning from him she knew she wanted to be an attorney too.   In addition to her father there were other aspects of the law that caught her attention.

Anna loved to argue and solve problems.  She found that in the law field there are problems and solutions to those problems, and she wanted to help find those solutions. When Anna entered law school, she knew which area of law she wanted to follow.  “I went to law school knowing I wanted to be in family law,” Anna explains. “It’s a type of law that I get to talk to people every single day, and there’s always some new perspective you have to think about. A workday always brings something new; there are new issues, unique circumstances, new problems, and new solutions. With my career, I can meet with my clients, hear their stories, and help them create solutions that solve the problems they face. I want to help these people get to a better place, and in family law, I can.”

Anna first joined our team in 2013 while still attending law school. She worked as a family law intern with Heather and the rest of our team and knew it was a good fit for her. “I saw that there was a position for a family law intern at Florida Women’s Law Group, so I looked up both the firm and Heather and immediately liked what I saw. Finding an internship that was specific to family law was really important to me, and I joined their team soon after meeting with Heather. Once I graduated law school, an offer was extended to me to come work here full time, and I have been here since then.  Working here has been wonderful,” Anna continues. “I love that our firm only represents women and that we fight for them to help them gain freedom from some of the most challenging moments in their lives. My favorite part of family law is being able to see that the work I do makes an impact in people’s lives; you can see the good that’s being done.”

When Anna finds herself with free time, she is usually spending it at home with her husband and her young son, Jack.  Pre-COVID, Anna and her family enjoyed traveling to see family or walking on the beach. While Anna and the rest of our team at Florida Women’s Law Group are kept busy helping our clients, even in these times of COVID, we’re all hoping we’ll be able to get outside to safely enjoy ourselves once again.
