The Narcissist and Parental Alienation

Co-parenting with a narcissist can be extremely difficult and you will have to overcome many obstacles.  One of the more painful manipulation techniques a narcissist can use is parental alienation.  This refers to the psychological manipulation of a child by one parent in an attempt to harm the relationship with the other parent.  This manipulation can result in the rejection, disdain and avoidance of the other parent.

This behavior not only harms your relationship with the child but it also creates stress and impacts the mental health of the child.  The infographic highlights ways that your ex may try to alienate you from your child.

Parental alienation is just another way for the narcissist to maintain control and try to hurt you anyway they can.  You will want to retaliate but the best course of action is to remain calm and do not react to him.  He needs attention to feel good about himself and the more upset you get the better he feels.  Continue to show love and support to your children no matter what he does to turn them against you.  Take the high road and live by example for your child.

A narcissist has a ‘take no prisoners’ mentality and with an inexperienced attorney your future and your children’s is at stake.  Your attorney will fight for the best outcome for you, protect you and be your communication source with your husband.  Take back control of your life and your future with Florida Women’s Law Group.  We were built to help women just like you and are here to support you throughout the entire process and empower you to end up better both financially and emotionally.
